Comedians to raise money for Our Village
GET ready for a night of laughs at Blackman’s Brewery while raising much needed funds for a local Geelong charity.
Laugh and Lagers will roll into the Torquay venue on Thursday, August 29 in support of Our Village (formally Geelong Mums).
Award-winning comedian Bron Lewis will headline the event.
A co-winner of the National Raw Comedy competition in 2022, the stand-up performer has sold out festivals around the nation.
Lewis is known for her TV guest appearances on The Cheap Seats, The Project and Have you Been Paying Attention?
Melbourne-based comedian Nathan Chin will join the fun as the special guest for the evening.
Chin has performed at comedy clubs and venues across the country and was runner up at RAW Comedy this year.
Brad Oaks, a comedian for more than 25 years, with experience mentoring on behalf of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, will host the event.
From each ticket, $20 will be donated to Our Village, allowing them to continue providing their services in keeping children and babies safe.
Head of fundraising and communication at Our Village, Olivia Zinzan said the organisation was grateful for the support of Blackman’s Brewery and the Laughs and Lagers event.
“Funds raised through ticket sales will make a big difference to our ongoing work turning pre-loved into re-loved so every child thrives.
“The event organisers are hoping to raise $2,000 which would be enough to provide bundles for 34 babies and children for a whole year.
“We hope the community gets behind this fun event for a great cause.”
The comedians will take the stage at 6pm.
