A TORQUAY local is continuing to do all she can to help her home country of Ukraine by kickstarting a new festive season giving program to help children’s “dreams come true.”

Following the success of her “Art from the Heart” classes, Ukrainian Natalia Skiba is supporting 30 children who have lost their parents in Ukraine by fundraising to buy their special Christmas wish.

Ms Skiba has launched a website which features a small profile on each child and their biggest Christmas wish.

Children have wished for gifts like a new phone, toys, a scooter, a bike and roller blades.

Locals have the option of going to child’s site and donating the full cost of the gift, or alternatively donating what they can.

Ms Skiba will then order the gift and manage its delivery to the orphanage where the children are staying.

The Torquay local said “every child deserves a magical moment of happiness at Christmas”.

“These 30 children are just some of the poor children who lost their parents during the war,” she said.

“It’s great to take one or more children’s dreams and make them come true with your family. You can touch the fulfillment of a miracle and become a real wizard!

“If you cannot currently fulfill your dream, you can transfer any amount and we will use it to buy fruits and sweets for the children for the Christmas table.

“The community’s help is simply priceless and very important.”

Throughout the festive season, Ms Skiba will also be hosting Christmas Art Classes at St Therese Primary School, with all proceeds supporting Ukrainian children.
