Dates announced for free ferry trials
PORT Phillip Ferries, in partnership with the Committee for Geelong, have announced the free trial commuter services between central Geelong and Melbourne will take place on July 24 and July 31.
On each trip, travellers will be asked for a gold coin donation to be passed on to a local charity.
In addition to the commuter services, Port Philip Ferries will offer a free one-hour Celebration Cruise around Corio Bay. This will run at about noon on July 31.
The success or otherwise of the Geelong trial services will help determine whether Port Phillip Ferries include central Geelong as a permanent fixture on their ferry schedule.
About 300 seats will be available on each journey. Bookings are essential, and tickets will be available online from Monday, June 25 at geelongferrytrials.com.au.
