A CHEERFUL collaboration between Winchelsea Primary School students and the local men’s shed has resulted in an eye-catching window decoration ahead of Christmas.

Hundreds of hours of volunteering, led by the Winchelsea Men’s Shed, Winchelsea Primary School, and Community Bank Winchelsea, has resulted in hundreds of ornaments hanging inside the front window of the local bank.

Men’s shed members Ray King and Ray Atkinson and the rest of the team cut out 200 Christmas-themed wooden shapes.

Once complete, they were handed over to school visual arts teacher Sheree Milverton, who spearheaded the effort in getting students to decorate each cut-out.

“The men’s shed was very happy to be part of this combined project with the Bendigo Bank and the Winchelsea Primary School,” Mr King said.

“After seeing the finished job, I thought the children did an amazing job of decorating.

“Well done to the students and the Bendigo Bank, who are great supporters of our community.”

The decorated creations can be seen in front of the Winchelsea Community Bank, giving the town a boost of holiday cheer.

The Winchelsea Community Bank stated the initiative highlights the power of collaboration in bringing people together and creating something truly special.
