Director appointed at new Torquay childcare centre

ONLY About Children (OAC) has appointed Shayne Cronin as campus director of its new childcare and kindergarten in Torquay, slated to open later this year.

The 130-place facility is under construction in the development at 85 Geelong Road.

OAC says people are key to the services it offers, and it recognises the importance of dedicated and experienced teams in supporting every child’s growth and development.

“We are excited to announce the appointment of Shayne Cronin as campus director at our brand new Torquay campus,” OAC head of education Angela Ngavaine said.

“We see every child as an individual who is capable and competent of expressing their own ideas and thinking theories.

We were drawn to Shayne’s passion for encouraging children to be excited about their learning, and able to challenge their perceptions of the world around them.

 

“We know the children at our new Torquay campus will thrive in Shayne’s care.”

Ms Cronin is a Torquay local, and brings more than 33 years of sector experience in early childhood education and care to her new role.

“I am passionate about providing all children with high-quality learning opportunities and I do this by creating inspiring and inviting learning environments, inspired by sustainability and natural resources.

“I am proud of my appointment as campus director, and I look forward to building a team of educators who are passionate about supporting children to become critical thinkers with a lifelong love for learning”.

OAC says it looks forward to welcoming families in the Torquay community for a campus tour when the campus opens.

OAC’s childcare and kindergarten will be the second site to open its doors at the 85 Geelong Road development, with the 7-Eleven service station and convenience store opening last week.
