REGIONAL living is booming in Victoria in 2020, with more and more people realising the benefits of a country or coastal lifestyle.
If you want to stop renting in Geelong or the Surf Coast and start living, or build an investment property there, now is the perfect time to learn more, with Metricon Homes hosting a free live webinar to showcase the benefits of living and investing regionally.

Metricon has assembled a panel of guest speakers to share insights and experiences, so that you can make an informed decision about getting a foothold on the regional Victorian property ladder. This includes:

FinancePath Credit Advisor, Daisy Stevens, who specialises in construction finance and has a genuine passion for helping people grow their wealth through property ownership
A Metricon customer who recently made a tree change and built their home in regional Victoria
Attendees will have the opportunity to ask the panellists any questions they may have throughout the webinar.
Out of the thousands of people who visit metricon.com.au every week, 32 per cent of them are looking to build regionally in Victoria.
Metricon surveyed website visitors who shared their thoughts on what’s on their regional relocation wish list, with large living areas, outdoor entertaining and land/ acreage topping the list, followed closely by easy commuting and the sense for community regional living can foster.
Metricon’s Regional Victoria Housing General Manager, Phil Barrett, said, “The market in regional Victoria is really booming. Affordability is a key a factor, but lifestyle also plays an important role with more people keen to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, have more land to enjoy with their family and to experience a sense of community.
“We have now built more than 9,000 homes across regional Victoria for a myriad of people at different stages of life and their home ownership journey and have several more in pipeline.”
Mr Barrett believes people working successfully from home amid coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions has also made now a great time to for people to live or invest in a regional area, such as Geelong and the Surf Coast.
“With working from home becoming the new norm, regional living is now an even more attractive option,” he said.
“More people are considering a tree-change or sea-change, or staying put if they already live regionally, if they only need to commute a few days per week as opposed to five days or can work entirely from home.
“With the effects COVID-19 has had on the way we live and work, we have seen our customers re-evaluate what is important to them when building their home and location is certainly something that they are looking at differently.
“The availability of home and land packages under $750,000 in regional areas and the $20,000 First Home Owner grant, are other incentives to consider building a home in regional Victoria,” concluded Mr Barrett.
