Disruptions expected with Surf Coast Highway closure
Regional Rail Revival, part of Victoria’s Big Build, announced the Surf Coast Highway would be closed between Felix Street and Baanip Boulevard from Wednesday this week to August 17.
“While the road is closed we will be working to completely remove the level crossing and finish work in the area, so that trains can begin to use the new rail bridge when services return in late August,” a project spokesperson said.
“Please note that the Marshalltown Road closure has been extended until August 7, detours will be in place and allow extra travel time.
“A shuttle bus will continue to be provided for pedestrians to cross from one side of the rail line to the other at Marshalltown Road.”
Affected vehicle users are encouraged to use the Geelong Ring Road and Barwon Heads Road to get access to the Armstrong Creek growth area.
Pioneer Road and Reserve Road will be available only to local traffic.
