Diversitat enjoys year of educational success
DIVERSITAT is proud to announce another successful year with its School-based Apprenticeship and Traineeship (SbAT) and Vocational Education and Training in Schools (VETiS) program with the best results yet.
Diversitat had 99 SbATs from over 42 school across Geelong, Colac, Werribee and Manor Lakes, with VETiS partners of Covenant College, Western Heights and Grovedale having over 70 VETiS students.
The overall completion rate for students finishing their studies with a qualification is 95 per cent, up 4 per cent from last year and 15 per cent up from the region average of 78 per cent.
The Early Childhood Education and Care program as a whole had a 93 per cent completion rate with seven students offered casual or part-time work in 2018 and four Horticulture students offered apprenticeships with an overall completion rate of 94 per cent.
For the first time this year, Diversitat ran the Hospitality SbATs and had a 98 per cent completion rate in this class, with one student securing an apprenticeship and eight students going into patisserie in 2018.
One of the screen and media students has secured a prestigious scholarship to a creative arts college in Melbourne.
The Australian Catholic University (ACU) pathway into Bachelor of Primary Education program is continuing into 2018 and will have four graduates who have an alternative entry pathway directly into ACU for their Education program in 2019.
This program is the first program of its kind, with Diversitat looking at building further pathway programs with other tertiary providers.
Diversitat is looking forward to 2018 with full programs in Screen and Media, Horticulture, Hospitality, Children Services and Community Services.
