SURF Coast residents and their canine pals were strutting their stuff on Sunday afternoon for this year’s Salty Dog Café Pooch Parade on Fisherman’s Beach.

The annual fashion parade, which was cancelled last year, raised funds for the Geelong Animal Welfare Society (GAWS) through its entry fees with prizes for numerous categories.

Rocco is ready for the summer.

The parade was supported by Pet Botanica, PetStock, Fur Life Vet and Torquay and Surfcoast Veterinary Clinics for this year’s event.

Awards categories included best dressed pooches across small, medium, large and extra-large breeds, best dressed pooch and owner combination, and best dog trick.

Salty Dog Café owner and event organiser James Zocchi stated 44 dogs entered into this year’s parade.

The event also raised $1,500 on the day and will be matched by the local establishment, raising this year’s donation to GAWS to $3,000.

Dixie the Frenchie was at her 12-legged best.

It is estimated more than 200 people watched the event.
