Dramatic cliff rescue at Jan Juc

A MAN faced crashing waves before being winched to safety from a Jan Juc cliff face on Sunday.

A Victoria Police spokesperson confirmed emergency services were called to Jan Juc to rescue a stranded 20-year-old man.

It is understood he got stuck on the cliff face near Ocean Boulevard and Cantala Drive at about 2.30pm.

Air Wing winched the man to safety at about 4pm.

Rising waves crashed against the cliff face as the man was helped into a harness by a police rescuer. They were winched in tandem to a police helicopter hovering above.

The man was assessed at the scene for minor injuries.
