SOME of Santa’s little helpers have been spotted in Winchelsea keeping an eye on things in the lead up to Christmas.

Toy elves have been popping up in local shops, cafes and businesses across the town over the past few weeks.

Growing Winchelsea’s inaugural Elf Trail concept brings families into local stores, celebrates community spirit and showcases Winchelsea as a destination for Christmas cheer.

Each time a shopper finds a hidden elf, they have been tasked with jotting down its name on their entry passport for a chance to win fantastic prizes.

Eleven businesses are already on board with the initiative, with options still open to businesses to enter before it wraps up on December 21.

Organiser, Elaine Atkinson from Growing Winchelsea said the community support for the Elf Trail has been thrilling.

“Our whole Christmas in Winchelsea schedule has just been fantastic, and the Carols and Twinkle Trees are also part of that.

“Our hidden elves have been popping up everywhere at local businesses, it’s been really well received by our local children.”

The Elf Trail will culminate in the Christmas Family barbecue and prize draw on December 21 at the Mud Hut.
