THE Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority (GORCAPA) has made two opportunities available for mobile food and beverage vendors to operate on Torquay’s popular esplanade.

The two three-year contracts are being offered to local mobile vendors to operate at either Elephant Walk or Cosy Corner.

GORCAPA has encouraged interested local food and drink vendors to apply, to further ensure Torquay remains a culinary destination in the region.

“Visitors and locals love food trucks and trying something new, which is why I’m sure we’ll see some incredible applications from talented vendors,” GORCAPA director of commercial and tourism operation Andy Mathers said.

“The beauty of the foreshore combined with top-notch culinary options means visitors can enjoy great food without venturing far from the beach.”

Successful applicants will hold the operating licences until the end of 2027.

GORCAPA also held an online public information briefing on Wednesday this week to support applying vendors.

The session aimed to answer any questions and guide operators through the application process.

“We appreciate good food on the Surf Coast so we’re hoping the best food and beverage trucks apply,” Mr Mathers said.

Applications for the licenses will close on July 19 at 5pm.
