SURF Coast event organisers have their chance to receive additional funding from the Surf Coast Shire.

The shire has opened applications for its Event Grants Program with funding injections of up to $10,000 available to applicants.

Grants are only applicable to events being held between July 1, 2023, and June 30, 2024 for the following three categories:

Community Events: grants up to $3,000

Boutique, Creative and Special Focus Events: grants up to $7,500

Tourism Events: grants up to $10,000

Cr Libby Stapleton said applicants eager to organise events, whether they were big or small, were encouraged to seek funding from the shire.

“Whether your event is big or small, we know that funding assistance is welcomed,” she said.

“Council is pleased to offer this annual grants program, to support our events calendar which brings significant economic and social benefits. It also showcases our stunning natural environment.

“From festivals to frisbee championships, to trail runs, cycling, stargazing and concerts – last year’s program supported a wide range of events. I’m looking forward to seeing the diversity of applications in the upcoming round.”

Applications open February 1 and close February 28, but all applicants must speak with a council events officer before submitting an application.

To arrange an appointment, email [email protected] or phone 5261 0600.
