July 14, 2020 BY

SEVERAL sports events have been cancelled due to the recent increase in coronavirus cases.

Yesterday, Surfing Victoria announced they had cancelled the Victorian SUP Surfing Titles, Victorian Masters Titles, Victorian SUP Racing Titles (Marathon and Tech), Woolworths Junior Surfing Titles Round 3, Australian Indigenous Surfing Titles, and the remaining heats of Victorian Longboard Titles round 1.

The Victorian SUP Surfing Titles were scheduled to run the soonest, having been due to take place on August 29-30.

Several events including the Australian SUP Titles and Victorian Open Series Round 1 are on standby. Surfing Victoria will announce if they are rescheduled or cancelled later, as well as what protocol may be in place for the events that do go ahead.

Earlier today, the Great Ocean Road Running Festival 2020 was also cancelled. The run was scheduled for August 22-23.

The organisers will hold the Great Ocean Road Virtual Running Event on August 21-23 to help competitors keep running despite the event’s cancellation.
