Events to celebrate Children’s Week on the Surf Coast
LOCAL families are invited to celebrate Children’s Week at two fun events on the Surf Coast next week.
The Surf Coast Shire council will be hosting community events at Elephant Walk Park in Torquay on Tuesday, October 22 and at Helen M Kininmonth Kindergarten in Winchelsea on Thursday, October 24.
The Torquay event will feature a Welcome to Country, pop-up activity stalls with creative craft and sensory experiences, and a science show.
Winchelsea eventgoers will participate in a healthy snack activity, sensory experiences, creative crafts and nature play.
“Young children have had a ball at these events in previous years, so be sure to save the date and come along,” shire chief executive officer Robyn Seymour said.
“We know play is invaluable for kids, which is why there is a diverse range of activities on offer at both of these events. Most importantly, there’s plenty of fun to be had by all.”
This year’s Children’s Week theme is ‘children have the right to a clean and safe environment’.
The Torquay event will run from 10am-12pm, and Winchelsea celebrations will go from 1pm-3pm.
