SURFCOAST Rural has opened its doors to the Torquay community, serving the farmers, hobbyists and animal lovers of the region.

The team is led by founder and local Kel Elevato and store manager Jordan Weeks, combining their skills and knowledge to service the community in animal feed and nutrition, animal health, crop production and equipment.

The rural stock feed supply store has a strong focus on equine produces and nutrition, as well as catering to all other livestock from cattle and sheep through to pigs, rabbits and

guinea pigs.

“We’re just wrapping everything from pet owners to the hobby farm enthusiasts, all the way through to commercial farming contractors,” Ms Elevato said.

Customer service is front of mind for the independently owned store, dedicated to personalised service and providing customers with genuine care and the desire to problem solve.

“It can be quite a confusing world for consumers when we’ve got so many products and so many options available,” Ms Elevato said.

“We’re here to take the confusion out of it for them and help educate them and we learn along the

way as well.

“We’re both big on our product knowledge and keeping up to date and everything validated in our own knowledge so we can pass it on to our own consumers and customers.”

The team love chatting to customers and getting to know them on a more personal level as they build individual relationships, something setting them apart as a local business.

Adding to their customer service is the business’s drive through and delivery service, making shopping easier and more convenient.

The Surf Coast business service the community in animal feed and nutrition, animal health, crop production and equipment.

A gap in the market sparked Ms Elevato’s decision in opening the store front, after the closing of Torquay Stockfeeds who serviced the community for more than four decades, she wanted to supply the region with their basic needs.

“There was huge demand and need for it in the community, given we’re surrounded by quite a large green belt of farming land, this pocket was missing out.”

As the business continues to grow, they hope to become the first destination people think of for their property or animal needs.

Surfcoast Rural have a strong focus on providing the community with high quality products.

Leading up to Christmas, Surfcoast Rural will invite the public into the store for photos with Santa as they will also supply the region with Christmas trees.
