Expert joins health board
WINCHELSEA’S health service has welcomed a new board director after farewelling a long-serving leader this month.
Clare Winter-Irving stepped into the Hesse Rural Health role for a three-year stint starting July 1, shifting from Shepparton-based Goulburn Valley Health.
Ms Winter-Irving’s background is in digital communications and media relations, and also has experience in health service public affairs.
The hospital board’s chair Ian Whiting said the appointment would ensure the health service had fair representation of men and women on its leadership panel.
“Clare brings great expertise in media and communications to complement the existing Hesse board directors’ skillset and is a welcome addition to the board,” Mr Whiting said.
Ms Winter-Irving will fill a vacancy left by seven-year director Naida Hutton, who has left the position.
The service thanked Ms Hutton for her dedicated service and clinical expertise.
“Naida’s contribution to the board over that time has been significant, bringing a great depth of clinical experience to the board room, and was an excellent chair of our care and clinical governance committee,” Mr Whiting said.
