ORGANISERS of the Jan Juc Community Playgroup are celebrating the success of their Family Fun Fiesta.

Run at the Bob Pettitt Cricket Club Rooms, the event was the playgroup’s main form of funding for the year allowing them to keep operating.

Once the rain cleared, attendees were entertained by kids’ entertainer Nicholas Ridiculous, with a bake sale, and face painting also on offer.

Parents and adults were looked after with a bar and silent auction, which included prizes donated by 15 different businesses.

The Family Fun Fiesta raised more than $2000 for the Jan Juc Community Playgroup.

Jan Juc Community Playgroup president Whitney Phillips said they were thrilled the event was a success.

“We are excited to announce that together, we raised over $2,000,”she said.

“These funds will go straight back into supporting our playgroup and helping us to continue to create a fun, welcoming space for local families.”

Ms Phillips thanked the local community and everyone who turned out to support the May 18 event.

“From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for showing up, joining in and helping make the day so special.

“Whether you volunteered, donated, performed, or simply came along with your family to enjoy the fun, your support means the world to us.

“We’re so grateful to be part of such a generous and connected community.”

Event organisers also thanked the Surf Coast Shire, which awarded them with a community grant to help them cover costs.

New members are encouraged to join the playgroup with memberships being $45 per year and sessions taking place between 9.30am and 11.30am on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
