A CHARITY dinner at Flying Brick Cider House next month will help support Feed Me Bellarine, Surf Coast and Geelong in their efforts to help those dealing with financial and food insecurity.

Set to take place on March 25, the event will endeavour to assist the army of volunteers providing meals to more than 2,000 people a week.

Feed Me Bellarine chair Lana Purcell said the event would be a great opportunity for locals to come together, enjoy a great night out and feel great about doing it.

“We are really excited to have the event back and are thrilled to have Lyndsay [Sharp] and the Flying Brick Cider team on board.

“The event will hopefully give businesses and people a better idea about what we do to address those struggling in our community.

“It’ll be fantastic to get everyone together for a night of good food and good times.”

Rather than focusing on a particular dollar amount as the measure of success, Mrs Purcell said the aim would be to just share their message as far and wide as possible.

“We don’t generally put a monetary target on the event, we just try to share stories of our work and hopefully raise a bit of money at the same time.

“However, if we are to raise a bit of money it will go towards addressing our struggles with transport.

“If we do raise a bit of money, we will endeavour to purchase a van or truck, which will help us get more deliveries out there to people in need.”

Tickets on the night include live entertainment and a three-course meal prepared by the Flying Brick Cider House.

There will also be a live auction and raffle with plenty of amazing prizes on offer.
