Flashes of brilliance illuminate night sea photos

December 5, 2018 BY

Jan Juc photographer Jonathon Spiteri captured the bioluminescent algae at Bells Beach.

IT’S NO secret that the greatest photographers of our time go to exhausting lengths to capture moments of natural beauty.

For 27-year-old Jan Juc photographer Jonathon Spiteri, this statement speaks volumes of his dedication to the lens.

Having spent several nights chasing the bioluminescent algae surrounding the beaches of the Surf Coast, “Jono” found himself in awe of the fluorescent hues of the red-coloured algae in the water which turns blue at dark.

Luckily for the committed artist who specialises in ocean/surf photography and astrophotography, Jono was able to take the mesmerising scenes he witnessed at his local surf beach and share them publicly.

He also offers his images for sale as well as specialised surf photography services. To contact Jono, email him at [email protected].
