Foundation fundraiser this weekend
TIN-RATTLERS will be out in force this weekend for Barwon Health Foundation’s annual Giving Weekend.
The donation drive starts tomorrow (Friday, June 24) until Sunday, June 26 and will include a host of fundraising activities from local businesses and organisations across Geelong and the Surf Coast.
Volunteers will collect change at busy intersections, Geelong’s Market Square Shopping Centre will have a BHF pop-up, and the Geelong Football Netball League fixture between North Shore and Lara at Windsor Park, Norlane will include money-raising activities.
Geelong businesses Café Go, The Fresh Food Merchant, Natural Supply Co and Community Care Chemist will donate a portion of their sales during the weekend.
Volunteers will also be on the tongs at Bunnings barbecues at the Waurn Ponds, North Geelong and Torquay stores.
The traditional donation weekend is a culmination of the foundation’s Giving Month, which aims to raise $300,000 for its Project
North campaign.
Project North is a $2.5 million appeal to improve health outcomes in Geelong’s north, by creating a new purpose-built public dental facility at Barwon Health North in Norlane.
