Free blues music on offer

THE music offering in Queenscliff is now even better this weekend, with free blues music to be presented tomorrow (Saturday, November 26) and Sunday, November 27 at the Queenscliffe Community Market.

Those with and without a ticket for the Queenscliff Music Festival, which starts today (Friday, November 25), are invited to check out The Blues Train Stage, which will be opened on both days by the Shedmen Blues Band from local initiative Shedding the Blues.

 

Supported by Queenscliff Neighbourhood House and Bellarine Community Health, Shedding the Blues is a men’s wellbeing initiative that seeks to serve people in the local communities and aims to draw together men who share a love of music.

Shedding the Blues provides opportunities for men of a mature age to get together on a regular basis.

The Blues Train Stage, Saturday, November 26:

• 10am-noon – The Shedmen Blues Band (sheddingtheblues.weebly.com)
• 12.30-1.30pm – Deep Heat Blues Band (@deepheatbluesband ) + Tex
• 1.45-2.45pm – Anna Scionti Music (@annasciontimusic )

For more of the Blues Train experience over the weekend, don’t forget about the rolling music venue’s Free Sunday Showcases.

The Blues Train will be running morning and afternoon sessions, and is encourage blues enthusiasts of all ages to come along and shake, rattle and roll with them.

This event is presented by Triple R with Support from Live Music Australia, a federal government initiative.

There will also be three artists performing at the Queenscliff station platform on Sunday: Tex Miller (9.15-10am), Rhiannon Simpson (10.15-11am) and Georgia Rodgers (1.45-2.30pm).

As part of the Queenscliff Music Festival weekend and to coincide with the community market, The Blues Train also has some free trips operating as a special pop-up activation on Sunday from 10am-3.30pm.

These are available for all ages and numbers are limited, and tickets must be pre-booked.
