Free Santa photos at Corio
SANTA Claus has come to town early for Corio shoppers.
Corio Village shopping centre set up Santa’s Summer Club on the weekend, which offers free photos with the jolly fellow in red in the lead-up to Christmas.
Santa swapped his reindeer and sleigh for Fairhaven surf lifesaving volunteers and a buggy on the weekend as Fairhaven SLCS members celebrated his arrival with a parade around the complex.
The centre has partnered with Fairhaven SLSC and Geelong Mums for its photobooth, and donations will go directly to the community organisations.
The photobooth raised more than $1800 for Geelong Mums last year.
Corio Village centre manager Curtis Gillett said the free initiative aimed to add to shoppers’ Christmas experience, and encouraged donations to the charities where possible.
“Christmas can be an expensive time of year so to be able to get a free Santa photo and then spend time with the family driving around to look at the amazing Christmas lights displays is something we are really proud to support,” he said.
Shoppers can pre-book their Santa photo or turn up for an available slot at select times until Christmas Eve.
