Fresh change for MCG Signs
AFTER more than 30 years of owning and operating MCG Signs in Torquay, Chris Haddock is taking a step back, selling the business to long-time employee Lynne Pitcher.
Ms Pitcher, has been a “driving force” behind MCG Signs, working there for more than ten years, and has now purchased the business, with her husband Ted.
Mr Haddock will continue working for the business and has great comfort in knowing that Ms Pitcher is staying on board and in charge.
“I’m so happy and proud to pass it on, it was always in the back of my mind that Lynne would do it,” he said.
Ms Pitcher, who officially took over last year, said MCG Signs would continue to provide the same services to the region, and the team at the business would remain the same.
“This business has been in Torquay for a long time, we’ve always served the community as best we can and we’re still going to do that, nothing’s changed, Chris is still here, I’m still here,” she said.
“It’s an in-house passing of the baton, everyone knows us, and we just want them to have confidence that it’s still all the same and we’ve just switched hats.”
Ms Pitcher is proud to be a woman in charge, and said she felt she had helped build the business into what it is today over the last decade.
She also has years of experience as a traditional hand-painted signwriter backing the team into their new chapter.
“We can uphold the core values of traditional trade and between the team, we’ve got more than 100 years of experience,” she said.
The team at MCG Signs looks forward to continuing to serve the community with all their design, signage and print needs.
