Freshwater Creek Steiner School gets $2.2m boost
TWO new classrooms are among upgrades slated for Freshwater Creek Steiner School this year.
Works will total $2.2 million and involve the construction of a new classroom building for the school’s year 5 and 6 students.
The building will include a breakout room, practical activity spaces and a covered outdoor learning area in addition to the two new classrooms.
The new facilities will be funded by the state government’s Capital Grants Program which provides non-government schools with funds to improve their infrastructure.
Corangamite federal member Libby Coker said upgrades to the school would benefit both existing and future students.
“This funding will allow Freshwater Creek Steiner School to improve learning environments and boost educational outcomes for their students,” Ms Coker said.
“The teachers, staff and students at Freshwater Creek Steiner School have built a strong school community and these new facilities will strengthen our local educational opportunities.
“I congratulate Freshwater Creek Steiner School on their successful grant application and look forward to seeing the positive impact new facilities will have on the school community.”
