Geelong Business Excellence Awards entries close soon
THERE are just three weeks left to submit entries for the 2024 Geelong Business Excellence Awards, with the deadline set for July 12.
This year, the awards feature 20 categories, including the newly introduced Employer of Choice Award.
This new category recognises businesses that create workplaces maximising their employees’ full potential by providing opportunities for personal and professional growth.
City of Greater Geelong mayor Trent Sullivan said the council was thrilled to support the 38th edition of the 2024 Geelong Business Excellence Awards once again.
“Local business success is a key driver of our economy and is critical to delivering the community’s vision for a clever and creative region,” Mr Sullivan said.
“We’re committed to helping businesses in Greater Geelong to grow and thrive through training programs, networking events, economic data, investment facilitation, industry development and more.
“To be named an Employer of Choice will be a massive coup for the successful business as it enhances their reputation and elevates their position to recruit, hire and retain the best people.”
The Employer of Choice Award requires entrants to demonstrate achievements in several key areas, including organisational culture, leadership, professional development, training and development, and reward and recognition.
“As the City prides itself as a collaborative and supportive place to grow and develop, this new category aligns with the organisation’s ambitions to be an employer of choice in the region,” Mr Sullivan said.
The Geelong Business Excellence Awards are open to residents of Geelong & the Bellarine, Surf Coast, Queenscliff, Golden Plains area, and those within 40 kilometres of the Geelong city centre.
The Employer of Choice Award is sponsored by the City of Greater Geelong.
