Geelong Racing Club launches Cup Club

Geelong Cup ambassador Sarah Czarnuch is the first official member of the Cup Club.

THE Geelong Racing Club has introduced a new three-month membership just in time for its biggest race meeting of the year.

The Cup Club covers four race days at the Geelong Racing Club, including the Geelong Cup on October 24.

Cup Club members on Cup Day will gain entry to the racecourse, exclusive access to the Mounting Yard Bar (previously known as the Dual Choice Bar) offering private bar facilities, TAB operators, TV screens, outside deck space and easy access to food throughout the day, plus a free drink on arrival.

“We saw an opportunity to develop a new type of affordable Cup Day experience that also encourages people back to the track on other race days after the Cup,” Geelong Racing Club president Peter Murrihy said.

“We believe the Cup Club Membership is awesome value covering four of our best race days and giving the community a chance to get involved with the GRC.

“We are really excited to open up the Mounting Yard Bar on Cup Day for GRC members, owners and trainers together with Cup Club members. This is a wonderful place to spend Cup Day in and an exclusive benefit for Cup Club members.”

Geelong Cup ambassador Sarah Czarnuch has been named as the first Cup Club member.

“I am really excited to be the first official member of the Cup Club, it is perfect for people like me who love the spring racing season and regularly attend the bigger race meets on the Geelong Racing Club calendar,” she said.

“I cannot wait for Cup Day; I’ll be hanging out in the Mounting Yard Bar during the day in between completing my ambassador duties. It is situated metres away from the Mounting Yard so it’s the best place for me to watch the race then present the winner of the Geelong Cup with the Cup.”

As well as the Geelong Cup on October 24, Cup Club membership covers racecourse entry to the Girls on Track Race Day on November 18, the Christmas Party Race Day on December 15 and the Boxing Day Races on December 26.
