COMMUNITY members eager to start, grow, or enhance their small business will find a wealth of opportunities at the coming 2024 Geelong Small Business Festival.

A collaboration between the City of Greater Geelong and the Geelong Chamber of Commerce, this year’s festival promises more than 50 free and low-cost events tailored to empower local business leaders.

Running from August 12 until August 23, the festival’s diverse program aims to connect, inspire, and

support the region’s small business community.

Small businesses constitute about 97 per cent of all enterprises in the Geelong area, playing a pivotal role in driving our local economy forward.

Now in its 14th edition, the Geelong Small Business Festival has benefitted hundreds of businesses and nearly 30,000 business owners and community members, underscoring our vibrant entrepreneurial spirit.

With more than 50 sessions planned, attendees can expect workshops, seminars, and networking opportunities covering a broad range of topics.

From digital marketing strategies and financial planning to leadership development and sustainability practices, there’s something for every business owner, regardless of their industry or stage of development.

Many events are offered for free or at a low cost, ensuring that valuable resources and knowledge are available to all community members.

Industry experts and successful entrepreneurs will share their insights, experiences, and strategies and attendees will have the opportunity to learn from the best, gaining practical advice that can be directly applied to their own ventures.

Spanning seven event themes, from marketing and business essentials to sustainability and wellbeing, the festival caters to every aspect of business growth and development.

Highlights include workshops, networking sessions, expert

panels, and keynote presentations designed to foster innovation and success.

The festival kicks off with a special launch event sponsored by Morris at The Pier Geelong on August 8, from 5.30pm to 8pm.

Featuring local agribusiness producers showcasing regional produce, the launch sets the stage for an enriching fortnight ahead.

With its diverse program, this festival is poised to connect, inspire, and

support the region’s small business community, ensuring a bright future for Geelong’s economy.
