Finally, Gelong’s list of events will come to a close on December 4 with a performance from Anthony B as part of the Jamaican Music and Food Festival where he will be joined by other local artists and DJ Banna (JA).
ALWAYS LIVE chief executive officer Psyche Payne said Geelong offered a range venues to host the artists, that a lot of people could get to.
“Geelong generally is an area that’s got an incredible youth population, it’s exciting to be able to spotlight a place that does have a lot of different venues and a lot of artistic talent.
“Bringing contemporary music out to the regional areas, is one of the unique and exciting factors about this major event.
“It’s an opportunity for us to be not just looking at the central metropolitan towns, but really how do we bring it out to a lot of communities that often don’t get to see some of the more headline profile artists.”
ALWAYS LIVE, supported by the state government, will include free and lost cost events.
Ms Payne hopes from the events on offer, people will be able to feel the power of music.
“It’s such a uniting force, I think when you bring artists out and you see people perform, that joy that you experience through music is unparalleled.”
The likes of Tina Arena, Missy Higgins, Dan Sultan, Jack White and more are also part of the lineup of musicians performing around Victoria.
