WHEN it comes to TVs, bigger is better, and Harvey Norman has some big deals on televisions over the Easter weekend.

Simon Day from Harvey Norman’s Waurn Ponds store said there was a wide range of widescreen TVs to choose from, with Samsung leading the way.

“At the moment, Samsung’s all about large screens – 65-inch, 75-inch – there’s just some cracking deals.

“The new QLED, the 7 Series QLED, there’s also some amazing deals on that.”

QLED is Samsung’s top-of-the-line television, offering outstanding colour, brightness, detail and contrast for images with superb realism.

Mr Day said customers put picture quality among their highest priorities when buying a new TV.

“It’s all about big screen and picture quality (for them), and Samsung fills both those spots beautifully.”

He said the market at the moment was a mix between those upgrading their existing widescreen for something even bigger, and those buying a widescreen TV for the first time.

“UHD – ultra-high-definition – has been around for a couple of years and there are a lot of people who still haven’t upgraded, and the opportunities are there at the moment with the great prices.”

He said people who bought a TV from Harvey Norman Waurn Ponds that was 55 inches wide or larger would get free delivery and wall mount installation (until April 2).

A big picture needs big sound to go with it. In terms of audio, Mr Day said full surround sound systems were still selling well at Harvey Norman but had been surpassed in popularity by sound bars, particularly because of their wireless multi-room feature.

“This allows you to have music in multiple locations all from the one device – they’ve all got apps, so you can control the music for your whole house from your phone.”

Harvey Norman Waurn Ponds is in the Geelong Homemaker Centre, 33 Princes Highway, Waurn Ponds.
