Golfers tee off for St Therese
THE Ghanda & St Therese Golf Classic drew a field of 100 to The Sands Torquay this year.
St Therese Catholic Primary School teacher Leigh Kentish said most participants in this year’s edition of the fundraiser were parents and community members connected to the school.
“The event was an incredible success, thanks to the support of local businesses who sponsored holes, participated in the golf, and generously donated prizes.
“Their involvement truly showcased the spirit of our community.
“It was a day filled with fun, laughter, and plenty of socialising, but most importantly, it was about raising vital funds for our school.”
He said the event raised a total of $19,000, which will be combined with proceeds from other Parents and Friends events to upgrade the school’s playground, which would be “a project that will benefit all the children at St Therese”.
“We are immensely grateful to everyone who braved the conditions, supported the day, and contributed to its success.
“Events like these highlight the strength and generosity of our local community.”
