CLOSE to $10,000 will be reinjected back into the Jan Juc Surf Life Saving Club, thanks to the success of its annual Grand Final Eve Luncheon.

More than 250 people attended the event at RACV Torquay Resort last Friday to support the work of the local sporting club.

Special guests on the day included Australian netballer and current Torquay Tigers coach Madi Browne, Geelong Cats premiership defender Corey Enright, MC guru Nick Butler and comedian Dave O’Neil.

Those in attendance enjoyed plenty of fine fare as well as auctions and raffles throughout the day.

Jan Juc SLSC event organiser Brad Papworth said the event had gone down as a huge success.

“It was just a really good day and to raise plenty for the club was just a really positive result.

“It’s probably on par with the last couple in terms of fundraising, and with all things considered and the general environment we are in, we were really happy.

“All the guests were incredible, particularly Madi Browne, who provided some great insights into her career in netball and the disparity between that and football. She gave us a great view into that world.”

More than 200 people attended the Grand Final Eve Luncheon at RACV Torquay Resort.

The Grand Final Eve Luncheon has become a staple on the local social calendar and will return in 2026.
