THE Great Australian Beer Festival rolled out the barrel at its new home on Saturday, with an estimated 4,000 people enjoying the surrounds of Johnstone Park.

More than 200 beers and ciders (and a handful of other drinks, including gin and wine) were on offer at the festival.

Brewers from across the Geelong region and as far away as Brisbane kept the samples flowing all afternoon and into the evening from a range of setups, including utes, vans, caravans and (in the case of Prickly Moses) a full-sized bus.

New breweries at the event – which celebrated its eighth year in 2020 – were Brick Lane, Darraweit Valley Cider, Daylesford Cider, Jetty Road and Moon Dog.

The entertainment was headlined by Sneaky Sound System, supported by Kim Churchill, The Kite Machine, The Run and Gary Jones.
