Great Ocean Road Brewing expands to Torquay
GREAT Ocean Road Brewing is set to expand its presence on the Surf Coast by taking over the former Sou’West Brewery in Torquay.
After nearly three years since its launch in South Geelong, the brewery is moving its flagship store to the Baines Crescent site.
The Shortal and Ranger families, who own Great Ocean Road Brewing, have been looking for the right location to create a destination venue.
Matt Shortal said the new owners were excited to make their mark on the architecturally-designed space.
“When the opportunity arose to increase our brewing capacity with a state-of-the-art brewing kit, combined with the extensive fitout of the venue attached, it was an opportunity too good to refuse.”
Torquay local and co-owner Renae Ranger said the new location was ideal.
“Our brewery will be more than just a place to enjoy exceptional craft beer.
“It will be a gathering spot where community can connect and welcome visitors from near and far.”
The Torquay venue will open in the coming months.
The team will also continue to manage their South Geelong venue.
