Grimley opens office in Torquay
TORQUAY’S Pearl Street has welcomed the office of Stuart Grimley MP, with the Justice Party state leader officially opening his doors this week.
Located in the heart of the 3228, Mr Grimley said the addition of his office to the streetscape allows for individuals to raise concerns on state government issues from the comfort of their hometown.
Mr Grimley said he hopes to meet with Torquay locals so he can assist in navigating government departments and processes, while also encouraging community members to get involved in St Vinnies’ Winter Appeal.
“I am immensely proud to be the first state government member of parliament representative to have an office in Torquay,” Mr Grimley said.
“To celebrate our office finally opening and show what our party stands for, we will be running a blanket drive for St Vinnies’ Winter Appeal through the month of July. Derryn Hinch’s Justice Party has a huge focus on supporting women and children, as well as our most vulnerable groups.
“Many of those who are sleeping rough this winter are unfortunately women and children who have experienced domestic violence and we want this intergenerational disadvantage to stop now. This is just something small we can all do to help.”
A donation box will be located in the foyer of Mr Grimley’s office where people can gift blankets and warm linen to St Vinnies, Geelong.
Each contribution will be distributed to rough sleepers and vulnerable families.
The official office opening will be held tomorrow afternoon, with Derryn Hinch, Justice Party and electorate office staff as well as family and friends to attend.
The office will be open from Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm at 1/15 Pearl Street, Torquay.
