THE Royal Geelong Show bursts to life tomorrow (Thursday, October 16) promising four action-packed days of thrills, entertainment, rides, agriculture and family fun.
Headlining the arena this year is internationally renowned horseman and bush poet Guy McLean, making his Geelong Show debut.
showcase the remarkable skills of the Australian stockman — from working cattle and sheep to the deep connection between rider and horse.
“I’m going to take it to the highest level,” McLean said. “The level that I used to win two world championships and a young horse starting championship in Australia.
“I’ve performed all over — New York City, Canada, America — there’s nowhere else I would rather be than in our beautiful Australia at the Geelong show.”
McLean said audiences can expect plenty of surprises.
“Expect that this is the kind of show you would want to see from someone who has devoted their entire life to horses. I’ve been on and around them since I was 16 months old,” he said.
“I’ve been in love with the Australian stock horse breeds since I was a young boy and they were my hero.”
The Royal Geelong Show will run until Sunday, October 19.
