headspace to amplify young voices at Q and A event
HEADSPACE centres in Geelong and Corio are inviting local service providers and clinicians to attend a Q and A panel event directed at empowering young people to support their own wellbeing and mental health.
The ‘Is your service youth friendly” event will be held on October 26 at the Geelong Library and Heritage Centre.
It will aim to work to strengthen and promote youth friendly services across the region, with the goal of encouraging providers to discover ways they can better assist young members of society in accessing the help they need, when they need it.
The panel will feature a diverse group of young people from across the region who will share their experiences of accessing mental health services in Geelong.
Headspace Geelong and Corio centre manager, Tenille Favazzo said the event would help clinicians to deliver even stronger mental health and wellbeing opportunities.
“We encourage help seeking and looking after your mental wellbeing and we’ve chosen to focus on supporting young people to find their voice this year.
“As part of our headspace day celebrations from earlier this month, we are choosing to celebrate through holding a Q&A panel delivered by young people around what makes a great clinician.
“This is an event that all are welcome to attend.”
