June 19, 2019 BY

Torquay Hire & Steel moved to the West Coast Business Park in 2010.

Torquay Hire & Steel can find you the right tool for the right job.

The business offers an extensive range of equipment suitable for handymen, contractors and all types of tradespeople, be they builders, plumbers, concreters, electricians, painters or landscapers. They also have a variety of steel products including flat, round, square, threaded and reo bar, also angle, pipe and RHS.

All steel is available cut to size and delivery is available on all hire equipment and steel products.

Owner David Begley purchased Torquay Hire Service in 2002 while it was operating in Baines Crescent, introduced steel sales into the business, and in 2010 moved to purpose-built premises at 14 Beacon Boulevard in the West Coast Business Park, becoming the first venture to start operations in the estate.

Torquay Hire & Steel caters to the Surf Coast, Mt Duneed, Armstrong Creek, Warralily, Grovedale, Moriac, and Winchelsea areas.

“Over the past 18 years we have continually added new equipment to our range and now have an extensive array of equipment available for hire for both professionals and handymen,” David said.

“I enjoy the interaction with the local tradies in the area and being able to offer people advice on what type of equipment would be best suited for the job they have in mind.

“A lot of our customers don’t work with tools and equipment every day of the week and are not really sure what they need, so I like to take the time to talk to them about what they are trying to achieve and then guide them in the right direction.

“We offer discounts on our hire equipment for four days hire or more and can be flexible on our rates if customers have requirements outside our standard hire periods.”
