City defers decision on old post office
THE City of Greater Geelong council has deferred its discussion on the future of the former Geelong Post Office until its next meeting. The city has previously advertised its intention to sell the building on the corner of Ryrie and Gheringhap streets, but councillors at their meeting in Indented Head on July 9 resolved to defer a decision until their July 30 meeting. “Given the former post office is in central Geelong and there is interest in the matter among Geelong residents, we felt it was appropriate to discuss it during a meeting at City Hall,” Geelong mayor Bruce Harwood said.
