The Young Diggers Dog Squad trains companion and assistance dogs to support serving and ex-serving Australian Defence Force members who are dealing with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorders (PTSD).

U3A to welcome Young Diggers
U3A SURF Coast’s term three program began last week, and a highlight will be a visit from Carole Doyle and assistance dog Dusty from Young Diggers, a support service for serving and ex-serving military personnel and their families who might be having difficulties coping with the stresses and fall-out from military service. The session will be held at the Kurrambee Myaring Community Centre, 12 Merrijig Drive, Torquay on August 2 at 1.30pm. Everyone welcome, entry by gold coin donation to Young Diggers. VFF encourages submissions to animal activism inquiry
THE Victorian Farmers Federation (VFF) is calling on farmers, supply chain businesses, and agricultural professionals to make a submission to the state government’s Inquiry into the Impact of Animal Activism before it closes on August 2. “This inquiry is a chance for farmers and supply chain businesses to tell the Government how illegal trespass, interfering with businesses, property damage and livestock theft has already or could affect your business and the industry as a whole,” VFF president David Jochinke said. Entries open for VIP open day experience with ADFA
THE Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) is giving young Australians an exclusive opportunity to win an up close and personal look into where the Australian Defence Force develops its future leaders. Open to 16-22 year olds nationwide, the annual event gives three prospective recruits the chance to experience a range of unique military activities such as a helicopter ride across Canberra, witnessing an army section assault and one-on one time with trainee officers.
