Inspiring women to attend St Therese’s Mother’s Day Luncheon

Briony Smith and Yvette Fahey were all smiles during last year’s sell-out event.

ST Therese Catholic Primary School will be hosting the annual Mother’s Day Luncheon on Friday May 3 at the RACV Torquay resort.

The event was first started in the kitchen of one of the school’s mothers and has since become a major community fundraising activity organised by St Therese’s Parents and Friends Association.

This year’s luncheon will feature a panel of three guest speakers who will share their success stories and provide insight into how they managework life balance.

Meet the women – JADE MCKENZIE

Owner of event services company Event Head, Jade McKenzie is a keen business woman and mother. Jade has over 15 years’ experience in event management and business development in corporate, not-for-profit and entrepreneurial sectors. The original “Event Head” is an internationally award-winning event professional and coach. She specialises in working with clients who want to create successful and sustainable event and businesses.

KATE DARBY
Kate Darby grew up in Macedon and began playing footy in under 12s before stopping. She moved to Torquay in 2013 and worked at RACV for four years. During this time, she had no sport involvement. She was drafted by Carlton’s AFLW team in the inaugural year before moving to Geelong for VFLW. She was drafted by the Cats for the 2019 season of women’s footy.

JEN LAWRIE
Jen Lawrie joined the VM Style Group (previously Votre Monde Interior Design) in 2013. As a director and designer, Jen has helped build the company profile and client base by offering a range of interior design and property styling services. Prior to joining VM, Jen worked as a property lawyer for 11 years before deciding to “redesign her life”.

Guests are offered a drink upon arrival as well as a two-course meal. Major raffle prizes will be up for grabs, from an original piece of artwork by coastal artist Kate Mayes to a night away for two.
