John Foreman and stars to perform Broadway hits in Geelong
John Foreman, the Australian Pops Orchestra, and renowned musical theatre talents Marina Prior, Michael Cormick, and Jemma Rix are set to take the stage at Costa Hall for a one-night special event on Friday, March 22, presenting the Best of Broadway show.
Following last year’s successful Leading Ladies performance, Foreman and the 30-piece orchestra will present a selection of Broadway hits and classic show-tunes to the audience.
Geelong Arts Centre head of programming Penny McCabe said it was an event not to be missed.
“Best of Broadway represents a culmination of Geelong Arts Centre’s dedication to curating exceptional experiences for audiences by not only showcasing the timeless allure of musical theatre, but also celebrating the incredible depth of Australian talent.
Performances will feature Marina Prior, known as “Australia’s First Lady of Song”; Michael Cormick, a baritone recognised internationally; and Jemma Rix, known for her leading roles in Wicked and Frozen.
The Best of Broadway is set to offer a night of engaging theatre, with famous songs, stories, and achievements from the Broadway scene.
The Geelong Arts Centre’s 2024 season, including Best of Broadway, receives support from the Victorian government through Creative Victoria, Deakin University as the Major Artistic Partner, and Costa Asset Management as the Innovation Partner.
