VALUABLE rural insights will be shared tomorrow morning (Friday, May 2) at a free breakfast and networking event in Winchelsea.
Entrepreneur, filmmaker and farming advocate Leila McDougall will be headlining Rural Resilience at the Winchelsea Shire Hall.
Ms McDougall will deliver a keynote on the often-invisible challenges of rural life.
Surf Coast Shire councillor Joel Grist encouraged all local business owners to attend the event, particularly primary producers in the hinterland region.
“Leila’s film Just A Farmer has sparked important conversations about the struggles that farming communities face, and highlighted why connections are so vital.
“As well as hearing from Leila, attendees will have the opportunity to chat with other locals to help build those connections.”
The keynote will be held from 7.30am and be followed by a small business drop-in session from 10am to 11am.
The drop-in session will provide a chance for all small business owners to receive advice from experts.
Business plans, applying for grants and wellbeing support will all be covered.
Rural Resilience is part of the shire’s Better Business Skills workshop series.
