Kids access their creative side at Art Bash
THE Kids’ Art Bash will return to Anglesea once again throughout January.
Anglesea Art House has been putting on the event for over 35 years and is pleased to be running through the school holidays after such a difficult year for students.
The Art Bash is all about kids accessing their creative side.
There is plenty to do at the event, which runs from January 2-24.
From painting and dream catchers, through to stepping stones and mosaics – there is no shortage of things for the kids to get stuck into, all from $5.
This year will see a new addition to the Art Bash, with digital activity ‘Stop Motion’ being implemented. The new project, put together by committee member Rebecca Hosking and assisted by Scarlet Hesterman, sees children create clay art and then take a number of different pictures to eventually create a short stop motion film.
The stop motion project will be available on six days throughout January, set to be posted on Facebook.
Anglesea Art House president Jennifer O’Sullivan it was great to be able hold the event to provide youngsters an opportunity to use their imagination and creativeness after spending much of the year remote learning.
“We know it’s been a very tough year for them to be doing their schooling online, so this is something where they can access their creative side,” Ms O’Sullivan said. “There is something for everyone … it’s really good for families.”
Ms O’Sullivan said lots of work had gone into creating a CovidSafe environment to ensure everyone feels comfortable.
The Art Bash will open at 10am and run through to 4pm. The event is run by Anglesea Art House volunteers with more than 60 members participating.
Bookings can be made online and will be prioritised, but Ms O’Sullivan said everyone will be welcome to come along, as the event maintains CovidSafe protocols. For further information visit the website, www.angleseaarthouse.com.au
