APPLICATIONS for next year’s programs at Surf Coast Shire-run kindergartens will open on Monday, April 7.

Families can apply for three-year-old and four-year old programs at Anglesea Kindergarten, Helen M Kininmonth Pre-School Winchelsea, Jan Juc Pre-School, Kurrambee Myaring Kindergarten in Torquay, Lorne Kindergarten and Torquay Kindergarten.

All of the shire’s kindergarten services have The Kinder Tick – a benchmark that ensures a high standard of training and qualifications.

Cr Rebecca Bourke said all facilities offered an inviting environment for play-based learning.

“The kindergarten years are so much fun for children.” We know that children who attend two years of kindergarten are set-up for school – socially, emotionally and academically.

“You can see the benefits in their primary school years and even down the track when they’re in secondary school.”

Families are encouraged to apply before first round applications close on June 22.
