WHAT started as a final chance for the adoption of two stray kittens, turned into a feel-good story for not only the Torquay and Surf Coast Veterinary Clinics, but also the Surf Coast Times team.

Photos were taken of the 11-week-old kittens Mike and Mary on Tuesday morning, to be placed in this week’s edition of the paper to find their forever homes.

Soon enough, advertising executives Cheryl Gillies and Linda Leeman – who picked out Mary for her friend Jo Westcott – adopted the two kittens after seeing images of them on the same day.

The two tabbies were found in Anglesea about five weeks ago and have since been in the care of the Torquay and Surf Coast Veterinary Clinics.
