Ladies Day raises vital funds for Geelong Mums
THE Surf Coast community dug deep into their pockets and helped to raise more $2,046 for Geelong Mums at a local Ladies Fundraiser Lunch last weekend.
More than 50 people packed into the Torquay Angling Club to help play a crucial role in supporting local families and children to give them the best start in life.
The event featured a series of raffles and silent auctions to contribute towards the whopping fundraising total.
Generous donors included Il Matto, The Surfcoast Picnic Co, Harry Brown, With Love, The Salty Dog, Barwon Pool Shop, Boardriders, Jimmy Downey Personal Training, Barbara Anderson, Geelong Cats, Jenny and Matt Gude.
Brian Kuit Landscapes donated flowers for the day, while Sullivan’s Catering also assisted with food and beverages during the luncheon.
Event organiser Jodie Morzinek said the level of generosity far exceeded expectations.
“It’s a great sense of accomplishment to have raised $2046 for Geelong Mums, and we are so grateful for the generous companies who donated to the silent auction and the amazing women on the day.
“The funds raised will undoubtedly make a positive impact on Geelong Mums.
“Their commitment to providing essential items, such as baby and children’s equipment, to families facing financial challenges really resonated with us.
“Now more than ever, families need our support.”
Emma Hayward and Lauren Harris from Geelong Mums both spoke on the day and praised the Torquay community for their fundraising efforts.
