Learn about the coming Catholic primary school

PARENTS interested in the new Catholic primary school to be built in Armstrong Creek have been invited to an information session being held in Grovedale tonight (Thursday).

Slated to open in 2020, the school will be built on a 2.8 hectare site on the corner of Warralily Boulevard and Tyntynder Close and will eventually cater for 500 students.

The school is presently in the masterplanning phase, and expects to seek planning approval of final design and go to tender by end of this year, with construction to take place through 2019.

The session will be moderated by Wayne Richard from Catholic Education Melbourne, and will feature:

• Father Linh Tran, who will give the welcome and explain the context of the school
• Brian Keane from the Parish Education Board, who will talk about Nazareth parish education
• A presentation on the design of the school by architect Wayne Stephens, a partner at ClarkeHopkinsClarke
• The consultation process for the school’s name by Lucy Carroll from Catholic Education Melbourne, and
• A question and answer session with the panel.

A website will be set up soon after a name has been selected so that prospective parents can express interest in the school and receive updates and information.

The session will be held in the hall at Nazareth Primary School, Griffith Street, Grovedale, tonight (Thursday, June 21) from 7-8.30pm.
