Lendlease is for seniors wanting a vibrant retirement

February 20, 2019 BY

With a variety of activities on offer, Lendlease Retirement Villages offer seniors an active lifestyle.

LINE dancing classes at Lendlease Retirement Villages had seniors of Geelong boot-scooting through 2018; the year ahead  promises an even more active lifestyle.

“Last year saw village calendars at our two Geelong over 55’s communities complete with new hobbies, competitive sports and evenings to remember,” Lendlease Retirement Living General Manager (VIC) Steve Howarth said.

“Residents enjoyed activities ranging from meditation to book clubs, arm chair yoga to coastal outings – and the schedule for 2019 is already looking lively.”

The person behind the fun at Tannoch Brae is Activities Coordinator and Village Administrator Brent Kennedy, who works with residents to create a monthly calendar that’s jam packed with activities and events, both inside the village and in the local area.

“Brent constantly has his eyes and ears open for new and exciting activities that are taking place outside the village, and then works with the residents to incorporate them into village life,” Mr Howarth said.

“He spends a lot of time talking to residents and discovering what they like.

“Brent will often find out what residents liked to do before they moved into the village and what they have enjoyed since arriving.”

Residents have shown enthusiastic support for Brent’s initiatives, with one offering to take control of the book club, freeing Brent up to continue to focus on finding and implementing new activities and events both inside and outside the village.

Both Lendlease villages in Geelong are only a short drive to beautiful local locations, with Tannoch Brae serving as a great gateway to the Bellarine Peninsula.

“A lot of our residents previously lived in Geelong or were from the Bellarine Peninsula, so the locations of our villages are perfect to maintain their lifestyle, while adding some of the best features that retirement living offers,” Mr Howarth said.

With activities constantly changing and evolving, residents are actively involved and able to get the most out of village life, ensuring a vibrant retirement.
