Local builds clean up at regional housing awards
SURF Coast, Bellarine and Geelong builders have been recognised as among the region’s best at a Torquay awards ceremony.
Housing Industry Australia hosted its Western Victoria Regional Housing Awards at RACV Torquay last Friday to crown outstanding construction projects from the past year.
A custom-built St Leonards home, by Ballarat-based Hudson Ridge builders, took home the prestigious home of the year award at last week’s ceremony.
The build’s client brief included provision for full wheelchair access in a home “built with absolute sophistication” that wowed judges.
The three-storey home makes the most of its stunning bay views and natural light throughout, including five bedrooms.
“Hudson Ridge Builders have delivered an absolutely outstanding home for their client,” HIA Regional Executive Director Fiona Nield said.
“Their attention to detail is evident throughout, and HIA congratulates the Hudson Ridge team on this achievement.”
Other winners on the night included:
- Kre8 Living (Torquay), display home of the year
- Cromer Builders (Ocean Grove), renovation/addition project of the year
- Furtulla Constructions (Geelong), spec home of the year
- Signature Homes Geelong, townhouse/villa development

“The homes recognised in the 2022 HIA Western Victoria Regional Housing Awards are exceptional, and HIA congratulates all of the winners and finalists.”
